Title of the action Improving Competitiveness and Productivity of the Beef Subsector through Fostering Gender Responsive, Inclusive and Sustainable Rangeland, Agro-Forestry and Water Resources Management (RAWM – Beef).
Geographical Coverage 

Isingiro, Mbarara,       Kiruhura,       Sembabule, Kiboga,Kyankwanzi, Nakaseke, Nakasongola and Masindi Districts

2. Scope of Work

The mentorship support Specialist will provide practical hands-on support to selected youth, women and farmers in the target district of Isingiro, Mbarara, Kiruhura, Sembabule, Kiboga, Kyankwanzi, Nakaseke, Nakasongola and Masindi Districts with practical skills and knowledge in running businesses including but not exclusive to Pasture establishment, pasture seed management, foliage nursery management and related businesses. The specialist will do the following:

  1. Asses the practical skills gaps among the selected project beneficiary entrepreneurs.
  2. Develop a hand on mentor-ship and hand holding schedule for the entrepreneurs
  3. Provide hands on skill mentor-ship and hand holding to the selected entrepreneurs in all target districts.
  4. Provide bi monthly reports of the hands-on support activity.

3. Qualifications, experience and key competencies

  • A degree in agricultural sciences, natural resource management, range management, range ecology, or closely related field
  • At least 3 years of technical work experience with youths, women and farmer entrepreneurs in the Beef, diary and pasture value chains.
  • Excellent knowledge in livestock production systems.
  • Experience of working in the cattle corridor in Uganda is an added advantage.

4. Documents to be included when submitting the proposals

Interested individual consultants must submit the following documents/information to demonstrate their qualifications:

  1. EOI and Offeror’s letter to CURAD (Maximum 3 Pages)
    • Confirming interest and availability for the contract assignment
    • Explain why they are the most suitable for the work.
  2. All-inclusive financial proposal (daily rate) proposal
  3. Personal CV including past experience in similar or related projects sponsored by the government or donor agencies.
  4. Provide at least 3 referees (CONTACTS).
