Terms of reference
The CURAD accountant has primary responsibility for all aspects of the organization’s financial management systems. S/he initiates and enforces measures and procedures to ensure that the CURAD’s business and operations are conducted with efficiency and professional integrity in order to protect the interests and assets of the institution and its valuable partners. S/he is also responsible for mentoring and supporting the financial management of CURAD’s agribusiness incubatees. S/he is hired by and reports directly to the Managing Director and is responsible and accountable for the overall financial performance and the smooth functioning of CURAD. The CURAD consultant will initially be appointed for a max of 6 months and he is expected to provide at least 12 working days to the organisation. The terms of service may change upon mutual agreement during this period. Approvals for the selected candidate will be done by the CUTRAD subcommittee of the board (TeWoCo). There’s no limit to the number of months the consultant accountant may serve; the continuation of the contract is solely based on performance. The CURAD consultant accountant serves as a member of CURAD Senior Management team.
Within his or her overall framework, the Accounts manager is responsible and accountable to the organization for the following, and his or her performance is judged based upon the degree of success he or she achieves in the implementation of these functions.
