Call for Application for Horticultural Incubatees

CURAD – The consortium for enhancing University responsiveness to agribusiness development is a leading agribusiness incubator in the country. It’s a public-private partnership initiative promoted by Makerere University, The National Union of Coffee Agribusinesses and Farm enterprises (NUCAFE), National Agricultural Research Organization (NARO). CURAD is one of the six agri-business incubators in Africa started and supported by the African Union through the Forum for Agricultural Research in Africa under the UniBRAIN facility with funding from the Danish foreign affairs office-DANIDA international.

Since 2014, CURAD has supported over 150 mainly youth led SME’s creating over 2200 jobs with its annual innovation challenge a key feature of its agribusiness innovation recruitment drive for deserving youths and innovators. CURAD offers budding entrepreneurs a wide range of business development services including but not limited to; Business idea analysis and diagnostics, mentorship, food product development and certification support services, climate smart agriculture innovations e.g Improved pastures, specialized trainings, market access and networking activities among others.

Specifically CURAD also offers entrepreneurs in the coffee, fruit/beverage value chain common generic diazepam vs valium user facilities and equipment access at Kabanyolo and Kapeeka to support production CURAD well equipped coffee value addition and a fruit processing facilities help budding entrepreneurs to start commercial production and trade. CURAD also empowers farmers and students entrepreneurs through incubation services like trainings, market linkages, Business Development, work station provisions which ensure development of the ventures they are dealing in.

CURAD hereby invites expression of interest for potential farmers and farmer groups to apply for Horticultural Training and consequent Market Linkages, a group of farmers or individual farmers with at least 2.5 acres (1Ha) of land that can be dedicated to Horticulture. Those already involved in or/and with a green-house are particularly welcome. CURAD will train the selected farmers in specific horticultural crops according to the market demands and it will endeavor to link and contract farmers to ready local and international buyers. Farmers should be in the districts: Wakiso, Mukono, Kayunga, Luwero, Nakaseke, Kayunga, Buikwe, Masaka, Hoima and neighboring districts in the region.

Am also a Diploma graduate in Agro-forestry from Nyabyeya Forestry college——Masindi with a vision of boosting Horticulture as research scientist and trainer in bee keeping.
