Mid last year CURAD organized the first ever agribusiness challenge in Uganda . During the last quarter of 2014 the sponsors were fulfilling their pledges to the winners. Microsoft, Fin Africa, B-Space and Trias fulfilling their pledges. Uganda Telecom Limited (UTL) fulfilled her pledge to the overall winner. A cash prize of fifteen million Uganda shillings was already advance to the winners. He also received a modern smart phone with generic brands of valium airtime of a full year. Other winners also received their awards from UTL.
Ivan Lumala of Micosoft 4Afrika is committed to giving each of the 9 winning teams from the CURAD Agribusiness Innovation Challenge an 8’’ tablet February 2015. In addition, Microsoft 4AFrika offered technical support to the 3 winners in the category of Best Start up Using ICT. These were Uganda coffee farmers alliance Makara Aurthur and Lyada Emmanuel.
